Ohh I hear it now, the wondrous sound,

The delightful sound of waves crashing on the shore..

I am getting near, it sounds so close!

How long have I waited for this,

Where is the ocean? I long to play in it!

Ah yes I feel it now, the mesmerising breeze,

The gentle ocean wind, it is unmistakable!

Long have I wandered, on endless meandering roads,

Let me not turn back now, I must reach the ocean!

Seagulls, kingfishers, ahh yes the companions of the ocean,

There they are, they beckon me on!

It can’t be far now, maybe a few miles more,

The ocean calls me forth, now there is no more fear,

Ah there I see, a wise lady of the ocean,

One who has guided, many weary travellers before me,

Gently and elegantly she comes to me,

Looks at me with such loving and dazzling eyes, in a voice melodious and sweet,

“Here you are my boy, long have I waited for you! Now where is your friend?”

I stop and look around…Where are you my dear friend?
