The Unopened Door

A privilege it is, to experience such pain,

An essential part of a human birth,

Such is the answer I get,

When I ask for an end to this pain…

Will this pain end with joy?

Or will it just go on and on?

At times I think I see a sign,

But then it seems to be a mirage…

My pride shattered, my intellect humbled,

My so called awakening, now questioned,

Perhaps this indeed is the lesson,

There is no lesson like pain…

Pain that brought out poetry,

Pain that taught me humility,

Pain that taught me of love,

Pain that taught me patience,

Pain that paid no heed to logic,

Ah I surrender to you, do with me as you like,

If you see that I’m worthy of more pain,

I have no other choice but to accept,

If you think me worthy to open the door,

I come to you smoothened, by this lesson of pain..
